MappsLab – A CMW Partnership

MappsLab is an innovative community mapping application developed by the Children’s Media Workshop to reconnect students and teachers to their best learning selves, based on the simple principle that Nothing Is More Fun Than Learning.
By transforming classrooms into hubs of interactive learning, MappsLab serves as a beacon for immersive, multidisciplinary education. It champions the empowerment of teachers, fostering their growth as influential advocates for grassroots change, rather than imposing prescriptive solutions.

CORE 5th Grade Writing Standard 3
Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences.

Travel to four different places and the world, zoom all the way in so that you can see the street you’re on. You will receive story prompts/scenes at each location to help you to create your story. Starting in Paris in front of Notre Dame a stranger comes up to, addresses you by name and gives you a wrapped package to take to Rome for another scene. Embed photos as illustrations for your writing.
